When Kacee’s mom contacted me about a cake smash session we started the conversation like I always do- asking about colors, themes and ideas that parents want brought to life. Kacee’s mama was torn on a theme for her little gal’s cake smash session. She loves turquoise, browns, and a rustic feel but wanted to be able to do the more traditional little girl pink as well. I recommended two completely different outfits and feels for Kacee’s first birthday photos and cake smash session and her mom agreed.
I think we were able to have the best of both worlds! Kacee wore a pretty pink dress and we used a floral backdrop for her first birthday portraits.
Kacee wasn’t feeling particularly well the day of her cake smash but we were able to capture some really cute photos anyway. It took a little time to warm up to the cake, but after she did she really liked it. The brown and turquoise color scheme and rustic touches made for a super cute setup too.
