Capturing Baby’s Expressions in Classic Portraits

One of my favorite new ways of capturing newborns is through black and white newborn photos. I rarely turn my regular images black and white because I just love them so much in color. Recently I started working on a new offering to capturing baby’s unique expressions in black and white.

Part of what makes these new Baby Expressions so adorable is that baby is awake the whole time! That’s a departure from typical newborn photography because we usually like to keep babies sleepy and snug. For these special black and white newborn photos we let baby stay awake and with a little help from mom (and sometimes dad!) we capture all of those sweet faces. Tiny yawns, grimaces, and sweet little smirks look precious and timeless in black and white. Expression images invariably end up being a favorite with parents and grandparents because they show so much of baby’s unique personality!

Baby Expressions are done at the very end of your newborn session, right before we say goodbye and they can be done during any regular newborn session.
