Over the course of the past year I’ve had the pleasure of watching Jemma grow up. She has always been a bit fiesty with me, but I’ve loved watching that part of her personality develop.
Jemma first came to me for her newborn photos; then came again at 4 months, and 8 months. I also saw her for a special session with her mommy last summer. Like every birthday session for babies who’ve been with me since their newborn days, Jemma’s cake smash was a little bit bittersweet.
The cake smash signaled the end of our every four month get togethers, but boy was the cake smash itself sweet! Jemma’s parents chose a candy themed cake smash and requested soft pinks and creams. The backdrop for Jemma’s cake smash was custom designed to match the one in sample images her mom sent me. Wooden crates, lots of candy, marshmallows, and paper pompoms rounded out the set. Aileen’s Cake Decor designed Jemma’s cake to look like a melting ice cream cone, with lots of sprinkles too.
Before the cake smash, we did Jemma’s first birthday portraits. The pink backdrop was almost perfect with Jemma’s beautiful eyes!
Jemma loved her birthday cake! She was happy and smiley and made a mess!
Bathtime was a huge hit also! Jemma splashed and smiled and spent lots of time just being cute.
