Over the winter I had a mama in who really, really wanted a snowy maternity session. I myself am not a lover of the fluffy white stuff, I much prefer to be snuggled up warm and cozy inside. This very special mama though has a fondness for snow and last winter just wasn’t bringing us much here in Pueblo, CO.
Towards the end of winter I spent a weekend driving through the mountains trying to track down a spot that would perfect for our session. After looking and looking I couldn’t find anything near town and mama and I were started to come to terms with having to do the session without snow. March came and went, and we made it to the middle of April very dry.
Then one beautiful morning in April we woke up to a wintery wonderland! There was snow still falling and on the ground, but there were also blossoms on all of the trees. It was such a pretty scene! We decided to brave the snow that was still coming down and head out to City Park for a quick maternity session. I was so impressed with this beautiful mom to be! In between shots we covered her up to keep her warm, but goodness it was cold!
The gorgeous tiffany blue gown (part of the studio wardrobe) she chose for the session was the perfect soft contrast against the snow, and was even more beautiful among the pink blossoms.
Despite the cold, and my general dislike for snow I think snow maternity portraits may actually be some of my favorites!
