One of the funnest parts for me when I’m hired to do a first birthday session is designing the set to coordinate with the birthday kiddo’s birthday theme. It’s a chance for me to be really creative! Grayson’s parents chose a shark theme for his first birthday party and it was my job to create a super adorable cake smash setup to match.
Our final product featured cut out ocean creatures including two happy, smiling sharks, several fish and a big crab. A wooden boat for his first birthday photos, a crate and a fishnet helped pull everything together. Like all first birthday sessions from K.D. Elise Photography, this one was completely customized. I think it came out fabulous!
Grayson’s mom brought in two adorable outfits to match the theme, and he looked quite handsome in them! Through all the handfuls and mouthfuls of cake, Grayson’s hair stayed perfect and he actually left his little tie on!
