Cake smashes are just such a fun way to celebrate a baby’s first birthday! There’s nothing quite like letting baby making a mess, and capturing it all on camera!
Ember’s mama requested a “You Are My Sunshine” themed cake smash session, so we went we some lovely blues and yellows. Aileen’s Bakery here in Pueblo made the cake and it turned out absolutely beautiful.
With a cake smash session, I never really never know how a little one is going to react. Some kiddos hate the cake and scream as soon as they stick their finger in the frosting (even tears make for adorable photos!). Other kids decide that it’s pretty alright and they leave the studio with a belly full of cake and a nice sugar high. Ember smacked the cake, she wasn’t nearly as intent on eating the cake as she was on destroying it! By the end of our session she’d slapped the cake, smashed the cake, turned the cake upside down and stomped the cake.
