Most of the babies that come to my studio for newborn portraits are in their second week of life. However, if you’ve missed that window and still want photos of your new baby I’d encourage you to get in touch with me anyway. It is still possible to get beautiful newborn portraits of your older baby, even up to a month old or a bit older. As a newborn photographer I’m experienced working with older newborns and keeping them happy and sleepy for those sweet photographs.
Aneal’s mom contacted me when he was almost a month old and we did his newborn photos a few days later. He LOVED being all wrapped up and snuggled, and fell into a nice sleep.
We started his session with a cute little deer bonnet, and he just looked so adorable in it!
To help Aneal fall into a really nice, deep sleep I kept him wrapped for a bit longer. We switched out his little deer hat for a bear bonnet in a few shots, then used some blues, grays and cream which looked so perfect on him. Aneal really liked having his little hands up by his face.
After falling into a deep sleep, Aneal let me unwrap him and pose him just like I would a younger baby. He was such a dream!
Towards the end of our time together Aneal woke up and let me get some super cute photos with his eyes open. Then, at the very end as I was talking to him he gave me his first real smile! It was such a special moment.
