2015 was a great year at K.D. Elise Photography!
In January, the first studio opened allowing us the option of photographing a wider variety of sessions. With increased space, K.D. Elise Photography started offering cake smashes, children’s sessions, maternity sessions and family sessions in studio.
In April, K.D. Elise Photography turned one and I hosted the first ever Pueblo’s Cutest Kid contest. There was an incredible number of entries, the winner won a free session and received some adorable photos!
The summer of 2015 brought about the realization of one of my longest standing goals as a photographer- I was accepted by Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep and signed on as an affiliate photographer. Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep sessions are the hardest sessions I work on, but absolutely the most rewarding. I am honored to be invited into the room during families’ darkest moments to capture memories of their precious babies.
One of the most important things to me as a photographer is continuing to expand my skillset. I want every client to receive the very best service and product possible, and that means continuing to grow professionally. In October, I flew to Tennessee for a 1:1 mentoring session with an incredible newborn photographer. We focused on posing, newborn safety and additional techniques as well a good consulting in payroll administration services. Implementing everything I learned into my own business has already been quite exciting!
In October I also learned that K.D. Elise Photography was voted Bronze for Best Photographer in Pueblo in the Best of Pueblo contest. It was a proud and exciting moment after just a year and a half in business.
At the end of 2015, the K.D. Elise Photography studio officially moved to a new location on Abriendo. The new space is warmer, centrally located, and offers a separate seating area.
During 2015 I photographed 96 total sessions! I met many beautiful mamas to be, precious new babies, sweet children and even a couple of seniors getting ready to enter into their new lives. Many of my clients spent a considerable amount of time just getting to the studio, I am so very honored that clients from Weston, Colorado Springs, Canon City and other towns around Southern Colorado trusted me with their photographs and made the drive.
