There is nothing like witnessing the miracle of birth. In fact, I’m something of a birth junkie! I’ve had the pleasure of serving as a home birth photographer at my own midwife’s homebirth and I’ve served as an assistant and or photographer at several other births.
I delivered my third baby at home, in the water surrounded by my midwife, her assistant and a senior midwife. It was an amazing experience and has driven my love for birth and birth photography. As a birth photographer, I feel most comfortable at homebirths but I do on occasion get invited to photograph a birth in a hospital.
Lilly made her arrival on a chilly March day, in the middle of a heavy snow storm. She just couldn’t wait to meet her mama and daddy and ended up coming 3 weeks early which lead to a short stay in the NICU.
