I spent my growing up years in the 90’s, the glory days of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. My sister was a huge fan and every weekend Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael made their way into our living room. When Urijah’s mom asked me to plan a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themed cake smash for his first birthday session I was excited, I knew that I could take the theme and run with it to make something really cool and fun.
We used a brick backdrop and a variety of themed accessories including a trash can and pizza boxes. Urijah’s nickname is “Turtle” and the whole set ended up being perfectly wonderful for him!
Urijah was a little bit shy, but he liked his cake and with a little help from his mom and dad he made a big mess. At the end of our time together, he even sat on his birthday cake!
Cake smashes always finish with a bath, it’s the perfect time to get the frosting off baby and get some really cute shots at the same time. Urijah wasn’t too sure about bath time at first, but his mama stayed close by and he ended up enjoying it after all!
I loved this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themed cake smash! Urijah’s first birthday photos came out absolutely adorable and we had a great time together.
