Family Photos in Pueblo

Thinking about family photos in Pueblo?

Did you know that studies have found that having family photos on the wall in their home helps children feel connected? Walking by a family portrait every day boosts children’s self-esteem. When the world feels turned upside down, family photos help a child feel more secure. They are a tangible reminder that a child has a place, somewhere they fit in, and people who love them.

Mama, I don’t say those things to make you feel bad about not having a family photo on the wall. I say that as an encouragement, because it’s never too late!

As a mom, I’ve spent my adult years (yes, ALL of them!) raising three beautiful kids. I had my oldest at just 18, and she’s now grown up and moved on. My middle child just moved out. Only our baby, okay, the 6’4″, 15-year-old man child, remains at home. When they were younger, I was caught up in the hustle and bustle of just keeping them alive, fed, and happy. Trust me when I tell you that family photos were the last thing on my mind.

And then… I realized one day that it had been eight years since our last family photo. My “baby” wasn’t the cute little 9-month-old with the chubby face full of drool anymore. My middle had turned into a preteen, and the teenage years had fallen upon the oldest. By this time, I had started K.D. Elise Photography and was busy capturing everyone else’s memories. I decided it was time to capture some of our own!

It’s been several years since that “first” family session. The giant canvas I had printed to hang above our piano is still in its place of honor and it’s still my favorite photo of us. We’ve had other family photo sessions since then, and prints from those are scattered around our home and my kids still enjoy looking at them.

I know how hard it is to pull off family photos. I cried in the store before that first session as I tried to put outfits together for everyone that would actually coordinate. Okay, I’m going to be honest. I think I’ve cried over outfits for most of our sessions. Goodness… nothing like convincing you that family photos are a great idea, huh?

Here’s the thing. I’ve been there. Heck, when I’m planning my own family’s session sometimes I’m STILL there. Let’s get your session on the calendar anyway, because 8 years from now, your family is still going to be looking at your photos on the wall. Your kids are going to have grown so much, and you’re going to be grateful to have those memories captured.

Planning your session doesn’t have to be complicated. If you don’t know what to wear, send me photos of possibilities. If you don’t want to shop, send me sizes and I’ll send you back links. When you’ve made one too many decisions already in the day to choose where to have your photos taken, just tell me if you like trees, trains, or brick and I’ll take care of the rest. Mama, I’ve been there and my job is to make it as easy as possible for you. I’ve mastered the art of keeping cranky kids happy and helping husbands who’d rather be anywhere else (yes, I’ve got one of THOSE too!) actually enjoy the experience. My sessions are never rushed. I believe in taking the time to get to know your kids, help everyone relax, and capture genuine, natural smiles. Your family deserves the time and care.

Are you ready? Send me an email and we’ll get to work on your memories. If you’re searching for family photos in Pueblo or need a trusted Pueblo family photographer, I’d love to help you capture the moments you’ll treasure for a lifetime.
